The 22nd Annual Living Blues Awards were disclosed on August 8th, 2015. The Readers Poll chose Shemekia as Female Blues Artist of the Year. She had already won the same award in 2012 and in 2006. In 2012, Shemekia had been granted the Most Outstanding Blues Singer Award by the Critics Poll.

Inducted into
the NY Blues Hall of Fame

Shemekia Copeland and John Hahn will be inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame on Wednesday, September 18th, during her show at the Iridium Jazz Club. She will be inducted for her contributions as an artist; John will be inducted for his contributions as a qongwriter.

Shemekia’s 33 1/3 has been nominated for a Grammy in the “Best Blues Album” category! Also in the category are Dr. John’s Locked Down, Ruthie Foster’s Let It Burn, Heritage Blues Orchestra’s And Still I Rise, and Joan Osborne’s Bring It On Home.
