Shemekia joined The Slide Brothers on The Conan O’Brien Show to sing a very soulful version of “Praise You.” The show will be aired on May 14, 2013.
Recorded at various venues throughout the United States including Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York, True Blues explores and celebrates the genre and follows its rich history from the Mississippi delta of the early 1900s to the present day. The album includes stellar and authentic performances by Corey Harris, Taj Mahal, Guy Davis, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Phil Wiggins… and Shemekia!

Shemekia Copeland, Irma Thomas, Otis Clay, James Cotton and Billy Branch will be among the headliners at the 30th annual Chicago Blues Festival, running June 6 through 9th.
The announcement was made today in the Chicago Tribune by music columnist Howard Reich.
