“I met him at The Apollo a few years back when we were doing a tribute to Hubert Sumlin and he was such a nice guy. He was talking to me about uh being a young kid running around in Texas checking out blues artists in clubs, and my dad was one of ’em. And I just really enjoyed our conversations so much. And uh I’m so happy you know that a big rock star like him has decided to play on the record. So that’s very cool.”

Shemekia Copeland talks with Elwood Blues (aka Dan Aykroyd) on The Blues Mobile about meeting Billy F. Gibbons from ZZ Top. The show then broadcasts Shemekia’s reimagining of ZZ Top’s “Jesus Just Left Chicago” featuring Billy on guitar, from her Outskirts Of Love album.
